NBA Update: LeBron James Lashes Out At Trump, Says NBA Is Not Sad Losing Donald Trump As Viewer

In the response to comments made by US President Donald Trump regarding the viewership of NBA, LeBron James responded. The LA Laker star who is considered among one the finest exponent of his art said “I really don’t think the basketball community are sad about losing his viewership.” LeBron responded to President Trump saying NBA players kneeling during the anthem is “disgraceful.” James was asked to respond following the LA Lakers loss to the Oklahoma City as per ESPN.

“I think our game is in a beautiful position and we have fans all over the world,” James added. “Our fans not only love the way we play the game, we try to give it back to them with our commitment to the game.

“But we also respect what else we try to bring to the game and acknowledge it – what is right and what is wrong. And I hope everyone, no matter the race, no matter the color, no matter the size, will see what leadership that we have at the top in our country and understand that November is right around the corner and it’s a big moment for us as Americans.”

“If we continue to talk about, We want better, we want change, we have an opportunity to do that. But the game will go on without his eyes on it. I can sit here and speak for all of us that love the game of basketball: We could care less.”

What Triggered The Response

The response came in after Donald Trump appeared on Fox new and said that he did not like the players kneeling during the national anthem and he has no interest left in the game.

“I think it’s disgraceful,” he said. “We work with [the NBA]. We work very hard trying to get them open. I was pushing them to get open. And then I see everyone kneeling during the anthem. It’s not acceptable to me. When I see them kneeling, I just turn off the game. I have no interest in the game.”

Earlier Trump in a tweet threw caution to the wind by mentioning he if any player kneels down during the game, it will be over for him.

“Looking forward to live sports, but any time I witness a player kneeling during the National Anthem, a sign of great disrespect for our Country and our Flag, the game is over for me!”
