MotoGP News: Marquez to Miss Andalucia GP: Dr. Mir Suggested He May Get Fit for Brno, The Czech GP

MotoGP came back to action with bang at Jerez. Spanish GP the first race of the season of primer class went very well. Fabio Quartarao made history by winning the first race of the season. Spanish GP proved to be a dream come true for Fabio, however, it proved to be a heart break for Champion Marquez. Marquez got injured during the race and had to undergo surgery. His surgery was carried out on Tuesday in Barcelona and the champion is currently recovering. Earlier there was no clarity on his return, however, it is now clear he would not be the part of Andalucia GP. If things go well, he might make a comeback in the Czech GP which is set to take place on August 09, 2020.

Marc Marquez Injury

During the Spanish MotoGP 2020 the defending champion Marc Marquez met with an horrendous accident and sustained a shoulder injury. He has been diagnosed with a fractured right humerus. The incident took place at corner three after making an incredible comeback from P16 to a podium fight Marc was engaged in a battle with Maverick Vinales for P2 that’s when he lost control.

Dr Mir On Marquez Injury Update

Dr. Mir who preformed a surgery on the champion Marc Marquez provided an update on his condition. Speaking to MotoGP.com doctor Mir said that Marquez is recovering better that they expected. “Initially he and his team was concerned about the radial never damage which quite common in humerus injury like this. The truth is that nerve was very close to being damaged but it wasn’t injured. This allowed us to do an open reduction and internal fixation of the latest generation titanium plate to the right humerus that allows him to start his recovery from today.

Upon asking what kind of therapy Marquez is going under he added “He started with a cold therapy with a machine that reduces the hematoma and, when the machine is not connected he is doing recovery work on shoulder, wrist and hand.

Dr. Mir On Marquez Return to Action

Dr. Mir informed that there are chance of him returning to action at Brno. Here is what he told to MotoGP.com “The truth is that with no affection to radial never, the door is only half opened to return at Brno. But still, there remains a possibility of him riding there. He is okay, upbeat, as always with aims of competing and aims to trying to fight for the World Championship.

However, there are speculation that Marquez may try for the race of Sunday. His team already cleared earlier the safety of the rider is of paramount interest they would like to have stronger Marquez return than sooner.
