What a season we had in the year 2020! It was full of surprise. The season was reduced to 15 races due to Covid pandemic. We didn’t get the usual start as the season opener in Qatar could stage only Moto2 & Moto3 events. The premier class had to be cancelled due Covid 19 and fans had to wait until July 19 for season restart in Spain. MotoGP had come with some special safety guidelines using bio bubble to make it possible. Their updated calendar had only 15 races with four triple headers and 1 double header. Moto GP 2021 Test Venues & Dates
MotoGP 2021 pre season testing will begin with a shakedown test in Malaysia. The Sepang circuit will host the MotoGP shakedown test between 14th -16 February. Shakedown test will be followed by the traditional test between February 19-21. Then we will have one final test in Qatar on March 10-12 before the inaugural race at Losail International Circuit.

MotoGP 2021 Provisional Calendar
MotoGP provisional calendar has a traditional start to the season with Qatar GP that will take place on March 28th. Now Qatar will hold a double header with back to races on 28th March & 4th April. Both the races will take place under the lights. The season finale will take place in Valencia on November 14. The Finnins MotoGP which was scheduled to make comeback after a long gap of 38 years is now being cancelled. Now Austria will host a double header between 08 August to 15 August. Unlike the MotoGP 2020 season their will be no triple header this time. The current provisional calendar has seven double headers.

And there are reserve venues as well. Considering the unpredictable nature of virus Covid 19, reserved venues are announced. Currently Argentina GP & Americas GP stand postponed till further notice duet to complexity created by Coronavirus.

MotoGP 2021 Teams & Riders
There have been some key moves made by the teams, however, Andrea Dovizioso deciding to part away with Ducati was one of the most shocking one. Fans will miss Andrea Dovizioso in MotoGP season 2021 as he did not get any seat for the season. After Marquez ruled out in the opening round many thought Dovi will win this season. But there was something else was boiling down between Ducati and Dovi. Dovi finally decided to put his 13 years old relationship with Ducati to an end. It’s a shame we will not be able to the rider of the caliber of Dovizioso in 2021. He will be replaced by Francesco Bagnaia who will join Jack Miller.
In other popular move Fabio Quartararo who has been impressive since 2019 will move Monster Yamaha team to join Maverick Vinales. The MotoGP legend Valentino Rossi will move to take Fabio’s place in Petronas Yamaha SRT team. Repsol Honda who signed Alex Marquez for season 2020 will have Pol Espargaro replacing him, Pol will now partner Marc Marquez. Alex Marquez will shift to LCR Honda to partner with Takaaki Nakagami who had a very impressive season this year. Danilo Petrucci will make way for Miguel Oliveira and move to Tech3 KTM to join Iker Lecuona.

MotoGP 2020 Results
Marc Marquez who started the season as a defending champion bowed out after he suffered an injury in the opening race at Jerez. His absences from the circuit opened up the championship and everyone started fancying their chances. We had 9 different winners through out the season 2020. However, Joan Mir surprised everyone by winning the championship. Even after Marquez was ruled out he had against some of the very best on the circuit. Maverick Vinales, Valentino Rossi, Andrea Dovizioso, Fabio Quartarao could not get past his consistent performance.
Joan Mir crowning as a MotoGP world champion has once again put emphasis on the consistent performance. Mir was able to win the championship with a single win in the season. Though, Franco Morbidelli & Fabio Quartararo both produced the highest numbers of wins (3 wins each) could not win the championship.
