Royal Challengers Bangalore swept away by Jonny Bairstow and Warner’s carnage

It is three in three for Royal Challengers Bangalore as they lost to Sunrisers Hyderabad in the first match of the Double Header on Sunday. Sunrisers Hyderabad scored massive 231-2 after 20 overs. Both the openers Jonny Bairstow and David Warner scored centuries.

Baistow and Warner’s carnage

Royal Challengers Bangalore won the toss and opted to bowl first. Sunrisers Hyderabad opened with Jonny Bairstow and David Warner. Both of them blasted Royal’s bowling. Englishman Bairstow scored 114 off 56 bowls hitting 13 fours and 7 sixes. He was out in 17th over when the scoreboard showed 185. Vijay Shankar then joined Warner. Warner then took the lead and scored his century in last over. Warner scored 100 off 55 balls hitting 5 fours and 5 sixes. On the other end, Shankar scored 9 from 3 balls and Yusuf Pathan scored 6 from 6 balls.

All of the Royal Challengers Bangalore bowlers bleed runs. Yuzvendra Chahal took 1 wicket for 44 runs from his quota of 4 overs.

Bangalore’s batting failed them big time

In reply, Royals opened with Parthiv Patel and Shimron Hetmyer. Both of them could not do much as Afghan spinner Mohammad Nabi created havoc in their camp. He took 4 wickets giving only 11 runs. Parthiv Patel was out for 11 runs while Hetmyer scored 9 runs. Skipper Virat Kohli scored 3 as Sandeep Sharma took his wicket. AB de Villiers was out for 1. When Shivam Dube got out after scoring 5 runs, the scoreboard read 35-6 after 7.3 overs. Colin de Grandhomme and Prayas Barman steadied the sinking ship as they added 51 runs for 7th wicket. Barman was out after scoring 19 runs from 24 balls. Umesh Yadav scored 14 runs from 9 balls. Colin de Grandhomme was out for 37 runs from 32 balls. At last Bangalore was all out for 113 as Hyderabad won the match by 118 runs.

Nabi takes 4 wickets

Mohammad Nabi took 4 wickets for 11 runs for Hyderabad. Sandeep Sharma took 3 wickets for 19 runs. Three Bangalore batsmen were run out.
