IPL 2020: VIVO The Chinese Sponsor Pulls Out This Years Title Sponsorship Amid Boycott Chinese Row

VIVO who bagged the title sponsorship rights of IPL in 2018 for 5 years has now backed out for this year’s edition. According to the report published in TOI VIVO & BCC are on the verge of parting their ways. VIVO India came under heavy backlash over social media ever since BCCI confirmed that they would be retaining all their title sponsors. Amid the Indo-Chinese tension and what has happened in Ladakh, the boycott China sentiments are high.

“VIVO is going to have to exit the league this year and that looks certain now. How that happens is going to depend on how BCCI & VIVO going to negotiate the matter. The company (Vivo) has had its own share of issues and BCCI has optics to deal with, given the political climate. They have to come to some understanding here because legal options can’t be considered in this case”.
