Mumbai Indians Journey To Finals

Riding on their emphatic performance MI reached to the final by dominating the league stage of IPL. They topped the table with 9 wins and 18 points. Only CSK, RCB RR, KXIP & SRH were able to beat them during league stage.  In the playoff they defeated the challenger Delhi Capitals quite comprehensively.

Delhi Capitals Journey To Finals

No one can argue about Delhi Capitals securing their spot in the final. Right from the season start they played some excellent games of cricket. DC & MI are the two best teams of this season without any iota of doubt. In the league stage Delhi managed to grad the second spot by securing 8 wins and 16 points in the league stage. Only SRH, MI, KXIP & KKR were able to beat them in the league stage. They got beaten by MI in the qualifier 1, however, comeback strongly against SRH in qualifier to reserve a spot in the final.

IPL Final 2020 MI Vs DC  Key Players  And Chances of Each Team

Rohit and his men will have definite psychological advantage against the challenger DC as they beaten them thrice in the same season. Two of their defeats came in Superover and their last defeat came when they rested their ace pace bowlers Bumrah & Boult. MI also the have advantage of being the IPL Finals before.  MI got a seasoned campaigner in the form of Rohit Sharma leading the side. However, on the other hand, Shreyas Iyer is learning trick of the trade, he has performed well as a young captain of DC. Though DC has been beaten thrice by MI in this season but they have capable players who can turn match on its head, on a given day they are a team to beat.

In season 2020 MI seems to be very balanced, be it their bowling and batting, they’ve many players performing. Their only concern is the form of captain Rohit Sharma whose bat has been quite for sometime. In batting department, Quinton de kock, Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan are in fine form. Kiron Pollard and Hardik Pandya are very successful in providing the fire power in the death overs. They’ve a world class bowling attack with the likes of Bumrah, Boult & Chahar is leading the spin attack for MI.

When it comes to bowling DC is evenly matched with MI, Rabada, Nortje & Ashwin are in superb form and have delivered some quality spells throughout the season. Axar Patel has been playing the allrounder role very well this season. Batting is their main concern, the good sign for DC is the form of Shikhar Dhawan, he has already struck 2 hundreds this season. He has amassed 603 runs this season, second only to Orange Cap holder KL Rahul who has 670 against his name. Marcus Stoinis and Shimron Hetmyer has done well for DC but rest of the batting is blow hot & cold. Their biggest disappointment is the form of Rishabh Pant, Pant is long due in this tournament, his bat hasn’t really fired this season.

With stats, current form, experience and momentum all against them Delhi Capitals have an Uphill Task inform of them. But what if they choose the big day to take revenge from MI then history will be written. There is now doubt they have the capability to defeat MI, but on the other hand, MI is looking too strong on papers. That is the game of cricket everyday is a fresh start what you have achieved is your past.

Looking forward to an exciting game of cricket on Tuesday.
