How Covid 19 Affecting Cricket: The Recent Series And Cricketing Events Getting Affected By The Pandemic
The world is still learning the art of dealing with COVID 19. The novel corona virus has enforced many changes in the normal lives and we’re still learning to adapt to these changes. Sports industry is one of the worst hit industries with this virus. The virus resulting in the cancellation and postponement of many sporting events around the world. Some of the sporting events did come back, however, only without the spectators. Cricket is one such sport which is getting vastly affected due to covid 19 virus. West Indies Tour of England:
The West Indies team will tour England in the month of July. They are scheduled to play 3 test matches from 08th July to 28th July. The tour will start on 8th of July with first match taking place in Southampton. The remaining two matches are scheduled to take place in Manchester. The second test will take place between 16-20 July with 3rd and final test taking place between 24-28th July. Due to Covid 19 pandemic it will be played in a bio secure environment, and there will be no spectator allowed.

Pakistan Tour of England:
The Pakistani team scheduled to play 3 test and 3 t-20 between July 30 to September 2nd. The future of the series is currently in doubt, as 10 players from Pakistani Team tested positive of corona virus. Haider Ail, Haris Rauf and Shadab Khan were asymptomatic before being tested positive. Other players tested positive are Fakhar Zaman, Imran Khan, Kashif Bhatti, Mohammad Hafeez, Mohammad Hasnain, Mohammad Rizwan and Wahab Riaz, along with team masseur Malang Ali.

New Zealand Tour of Bangladesh:
New Zealand tour of Bangladesh has been postponed in the wake of Covid 19 pandemic. The New Zealand team supposed to tour Bangladesh for a two test series as a part of ICC test championship. The tour is originally scheduled between August and September, now the two boards have decided to postpone the series in the current situation.
World T-20 & IPL
The world t-20 tournament is scheduled to take place between 18th October to 15th November. However, the things are not looking good for hosting such an event and it is highly unlikely that it will go as per schedule. The official statement on W-t20 still to come, however, if it gets cancelled then there are good chance IPL can utilized that window. BCCI and IPL governing counsel is really looking to use if that window gets vacated.
