F1 Abu Dhabi GP 2020 Tyre Choice & Weather Forecast For Abu Dhabi Grand Prix: The F1 2020 Season Finale To Take Place At Yas Marina Circuit

We are all set for F1 season Finale in Abu Dhabi. The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix will take place between December 11 to December 13 at Yas Marina Circuit. Sportsfeista brings you the information of Abu Dhabi GP 2020 Tyre Choice & Weather Forecast. Pirelli the official tyre supplier for F1 has made hard, medium & soft compound available for the final race. Teams will get to choose from C3 (Hard) C4 (Medium) & C5 (Soft) compound. It is the same tyre choice which they made available for last year. And just like the previous two races Abu Dhabi GP will take place under the lights.

Abu Dhabi GP 2020 Tyre Choice

The racing track at Yas Marina Circuit is less sever on tyres in comparison to Bahrain International Circuit. This has encouraged Pirelli to bring the softest compound tyre for Abu Dhabi GP. The teams will also get the opportunity to test 2021 tyres during free practice race. Since the race will take place under the lights and temperature will fall down, they longevity of tye compound will increase.

Last time we saw champion Lewis Hamilton completing the race with a single pit stop strategy. Not just Hamilton the runner up of 2019 Abu Dhabi GP Max Verstappen also finished with 1 stop strategy. There will be 55 laps in the final race, the circuit is smooth, however, it poses the challenge with tricky corners along with a long high speed straight of 1.2 km.

Mario Isola, head of F1 & Car Racing provided details about it.

The teams are very familiar with the Yas Marina circuit, which should allow them to extract maximum performance straight away to decide the final championship positions. The fastest lap in the 10-year previous F1 history of the track was set last year in qualifying, so it will be interesting to see if that benchmark is lowered even further this weekend. There will also be an emphasis on testing: both with the 2021 tyres in FP2, which the teams previously tried on Friday in Bahrain nearly two weeks ago, and at the post-season test, which will take place on Tuesday after the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. The 2021 tyre test should provide very useful data and the post-season one should allow drivers to get familiar with the car for what will hopefully be a much more normal 2021.”” – As quoted on Pirelli.com
