Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore to lock horns for the IPL 2019 season opener

Opening match of IPL 2019

The eleventh season of Indian Premier League is around the corner as the past season’s winner Chennai Super Kings will lock horns with Royal Challengers Bangalore. The match between both the teams will be played at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai. MA Chidambaram Stadium is home ground of Chennai Super Kings and their record there is impeccable. Match will start at 08:00 PM IST.

Chennai Super Kings

Chennai Super Kings has won the IPL title thrice and they will start as favourites again. While many doubted the team’s chances due to the average age of the team, Mahendra Singh Dhoni & co. won the coveted title the third time. They haven’t made many changes and the core of the team remains the same.

Royal Challengers Bangalore

In contrast, Royal Challengers Bangalore are still searching for their first title. Team RCB always had the best names in their team; however, they could never finish the final hurdle. This year skipper Virat Kohli would want the squad to forget the past debacles and start from the scratch. The core of the team will be the same as the team revolves around the master batsman Virat Kohli who is in super form these days. Along with AB De Villiers, he can decimate any bowling attack. This season they also have West Indian Shimron Hetmyer.

It will be interesting to see how both the teams start the season as first few matches play a big role in qualifying for the playoffs. It is going to be a cracker of the game with the world’s best players fighting it out in the middle.
