Pakistan in strong position against Australia
Australia is visiting UAE to play against Pakistan for two test matches and three T20s. First test match is being played from 7th Oct – 11th Oct. After the third day of the match Pakistan is in a strong position with a lead of 325 runs. Off-spinner Bilal Asif took 6 wickets for Pakistan.
Mohammad Hafeez and Asad Shafiq scores centuries
Pakistan scored 482 in their first inning as the top order scored heavily. Openers Imam-ul-Haq and Mohammad Hafeez scored 76 and 126 respectively. Azhar Ali could only score 18 runs; however, Haris Sohail and Asad Shafiq scored 110 and 80 runs respectively. No other batsman could score much.
Peter Siddle was the most successful bowler for Aussies as he took 3 wickets. Nathan Lyon took 2 wickets for 114 runs. Mitchell Starc, Jon Holland and Marnus Labuschagne took 1 wicket each.

Bilal Asif decimate Australian batting line up
In reply, Australia started well and was sailing at 137-0 on the third day. It looked like they will match Pakistan; however, off-spinner Bilal Asif had other ideas. Along with Mohammad Abbas, he decimated Australian batting. Bilal took 6 for 36 runs while Abbas took 4 for 29 runs. Usman Khawaja scored 85 while Aaron Finch scored 62 runs. Other 9 batsmen scored 42 runs in total with scores of 7, 12, 0, 0, 7, 0, 10, 6 and 0. Australia could only reach 202 with help of 13 extras. Pakistan took 282 runs lead in first innings.
Australian team management would want their middle order and lower middle order to score heavily in the second innings to save the match.
Pakistan second innings
Pakistan now has a lead of 325 runs as they are 45 for 3 wickets in second innings. Imam-ul-Haq is playing unbeaten at 23* runs with Haris Sohail at 0* at another end. Mohammad Hafeez, Bilal Asif and Azhar Ali back into the pavilion with scores of 17, 0 and 4 respectively. For Australia, Jon Holland took 2-11 while Nathan Lyon took 1-23 runs.
