Belgian GP 2020 Results & Highlights: Lewis Hamilton Leads The Mercedes 1-2 In Belgium Gran Prix 2020

The round 7 of F1 2020 updated calendar Belgian GP is about to get under way. Lewis Hamilton broke the 2 years loosing streak for Mercedes as he brings yet another win of this season. Lewis Hamilton brings home the 89th of his career and 5th of the season. Lewis Hamilton lead the race from start to finish. Bottas takes the second spot and Verstappen third. It was impressive performance by Renault as they took the fourth and fifth spot. Gasly continued to impress as he took the 8th spot behind Norris. However, Racing Point couldn’t get an impressive result out of Belgian GP. Stroll took 9th and Perez took the 10th spot.

Ferrari’s performance continued to dip as they finished 13th & 14th in the race. Vettel finished 13th and Leclerc finished 14th in the race. 3 drivers were unable to finish the race Sianz, Giovinazzi & Russel

  • Hamilton is stretching his lead to Bottas
  • Lap 24/44 now Albon gets past Gasly
  • The Honey Badger Ricciardo takes back is 4th position

  • Lap 20/44 Gasly in 4th position now
  • Lap 17/44 Safty car has gone and we’re back to normal racing.
  • Drivers look okay even after that big collision

  • Big collison betweenAntonio Giovinazzi and George Russell

  • Lap 10/44 Estaben Ocon is the only new entrant in top 5, top 4 kept their grid position intact.
  • Charles Leclerc is dropped back to 12 after he jumped to 10th early.
  • Gasly has made up 4 spot he is now 8th after starting 12th on the grid
  • Lap 4/44 Danyy Ric is closing gap to Verstappen ans two Mercedes leads the race
  • Danny Ric trying to overtake Max Verstappen
  • Carlos Sainz Race ended before the start due to exhaust failure.

Drivers’s Quote After Belgian GP 2020

HAMILTON: “It wasn’t the easiest of races. The tyre temperatures were slowly dropping. It was a bit of a struggle. “No matter how much success we have we keep our heads down. It’s an incredible mentality to work around”

BOTTAS: “The start was a big opportunity but Lewis played it well. I couldn’t catch him on the straights. Those two things were the difference. “Lewis was faultless today and he was good yesterday too. I’m happy that there’s another opportunity next weekend.

VERSTAPPEN: “I couldn’t really keep up with [the Mercedes]… We finished P3, any more was not possible”
