F1 Australia GP 2019 Results & Highlights: Dream Start for Mercedes As They 1-2 In The Season Opener With Bottas Winning The First Race of Season.

Australian GP started pretty well of 2018 constructor’s champion Mercedes as finished 1-2 in the opening race of the season. Ferrari took 4th & 5th spots with Vettel finishing fourth and Charles Leclerc career best 5th. It was good start for Red Bull as Max Verstappen took podium with third spot. However, his team mate Gasly failed to score as finished 11th. Australian GP did not augur well for local hero Daniel Ricciardo as he had to retire due to technical issues. Robert Kubica finished 17 only ahead of retired drivers. Kimi Raikkonen scored for his new team Alfa Romeo by finishing 8th. F1 season 2019 kicked in Melbourne Australia. Defending champion Lewis Hamilton started from pole position. However he soon lost his lead to team mate Valterri Bottas who went on to win the first race of the season. Here are the results.

F1 Australian GP 2019 Highlights

Dream start for Mercedes as they grabbed maximum points with 1-2 finish

Bottas won first race of the season.

Bottas shown some imperious pace as he overtook Champ in the very first lap

Lewis Hamilton once again finished second after winning the pole.

Some skillful driving gave Max Verstappen the podium.

Verstappen drove hard to overtake Sebastian Vettel.

Verstappen was pushing Hamilton for the second spot but the 5 time champ held on to his position.

Ferrari had to content with 4th and 5th spot.

Local hero Daniel Ricciardo who lost his front wing early in the race had to retire.

There were total 3 retirements Sainz, Ricciardo & Grosjean.

Former Ferrari driver Kimi Raikkonen scored points while driving for his new team Alfa Romeo.
