WWE Extreme Rules  2017 Highlights: Kickoff Match & Other Extreme Rules Results, Alexa Thrashes Bayley and Samoa Joe New No.1 Contedor for WWE Universal Championship

Welcome to WWE Extreme Rules 2017 Highlights, the WWE pay per view event is underway. WWE Extreme Rules 2017 kicked off with the match between Kalisto and Appolo Crews.

Kalisto def. Apollo Crews (Kickoff Match)

In the kickoff match, Appollo Crews faced Kalisto. Kalisto had defeated Appollo Crews in one on one action at Monday Night Raw. After that Titus O’Neil challenged Kalisto in a one one match to show the how it could have been done. Titus was successful as he defeated Kalisto, though by holding tights.

In the Kickoff match, Appollo Crews gained the early control in the match up with his athleticism and power. Appollo sent Kalisto into the ropes outside the ring, Kalisto tried to springboard but Appollo kicked him in the gut. Kalisto tried to surprise Crews with a quick pin but Crews counted and floored him a thunderous clothesline.

The High point of the match was when Crews tried slam Kalisto but Kalisto converted it into a DDT. Crews barely kicked out before three. Appollo Crews was going good in the match but receiving too many instructions from Titus did not augur well for him.

The match ended when Kalisto kicked out of a standing Shooting Star Press, O’Neil stepped onto the apron to argue with his protégé. The distraction was enough for Kalisto to strike with signature move Salida del Sol.

The Miz Defeated Dean Ambrose In Intercontinental Championship Match

Extreme Rules Results: A resourceful Miz became the WWE Intercontinental champion for the 7th time. The Odds were heavily stacked against Dean Ambrose and the A-lister took full advantage of it.

The Miz was tactical throughout the match, he tried everything in the book to get Dean Ambrose disqualified. After seeing his attempts of getting Dean disqualified failed, Miz tried to bring in Maryse. Maryse slapped Dean, and the referee saw it, he sent the Maryse the marching order. The Miz took the advantage pushing Dean onto the referee. While the referee was contemplating about disqualifying Ambrose, The Miz took advantage hit Dean with Skull Crushing Finale to pick up the win.

Raw Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss def. Bayley:

The Wicked With of WWE once again proved why she is the premier star. In a kendo stick on a pole match, she defeated Bayley to retain her title. Though after multiple failed attempts of both divas to grab the kendo stick it was Bayley who got it. But she was slightly hesitant to use kendo stick that’s what Alexa needed. Alexa quickly changed the course of the match as she speared Bayley from the corner and grabbed the kendo stick.

While Bayley was hesitant to use kendo stick, Alexa wasted no time to give Bayley a thrashing. The Wicked Witch gave multiple shots on the Bayley’s back. She secured the win with pitch perfect DDT to retain her title.

Rich Swann & Sasha Banks def. Noam Dar & Alicia Fox:

In the mix tag team match, Rich Swann & Sasha Banks defeated Noam Dar and Alicia Fox. Rich Swann was on roll in front of his home crowd. The match was started by Banks and Fox. It was ended when Swann hit Pheonix Splash on Dar.

Cesaro & Sheamus def. The Hardy Boyz to become the new Raw Tag Team Champions (Steel Cage Match)

The winning streak of Hardy Boyz came to an end at Extreme Rules 2017. Hardy’s chose the steel cage stipulation for the Extreme Rules. Hardy Boyz are known to be extreme but Sheamus and Cesaro also no stranger to steel cage.

In closely fought battle Jeff Hardy found the first opening when he escaped the cage. But Matt remained stuck inside the cage. It was two on one, action as Sheamus and Cesaro took advantage of the situation. This force Jeff to come back in the ring. Jeff came back into the ring with a jaw-dropping whisper in the wind for the top of the cage.

Hardy Boyz chose to escape through the door while Sheamus and Cesaro climbed the cage. In the end, it was Sheamus and Cesaro who got the win with the narrow margin.

WWE Cruiserweight Champion Neville def. Austin Aries (Submission Match):

Austin Aries was considered as a clear favorite in the submission match. However, the King Neville once again proved that Aries just doesn’t enough to dethrone the king. Aries came closer to the win like earlier but again the win eluded him.

Aries was able to make Neville tap out with Last Chancery Submission, however, that submission was locked outside of the ring. So, the match continued and so the rule of Neville. Neville, later on, put on show his own submission move Rings of Saturn to end the match in his favor.

No.1 Contender Fatal Five Way Match

The Main Event WWE Extreme Rules 2017 Results of Fatal Five Way Match went in favor of Samo Joe. Samoa Joe will face Brock Lesnar for Universal Championship

All Five Superstar came to the with only on goal in mind to win title opportunity against Brock Lesnar.

Finn Balor who was considered as one of the weakest links in the Fatal Five Way match showed his extreme side. Bray Wyatt was looking to hit Sister Abigail on Samoa Joe but Joe quickly turned into Coquina Clutch. Finn Balor then came into the ring with steel chair in hand and went with some hard shots to both Wyatt and Joe.

Bray Wyatt and Samo Joe formed a strategic alliance to take on other superstars. The leveled all other superstars using the steel steps to good effect. Even Roman Reigns who came in the match with huge moment couldn’t avoid punishment. But the fallout was inevitable as every man was for himself.

There moves after moves, Sister Abigal, Superman punch, Coup De Grace, Running Knee. But none was proving enough. Finn Balor laid Bray Wyatt on the announce table, however, got caught into Coquina clutch, Reigns broke the hold by spearing both Joe and Balor outside the ring. Meanwhile,  Seth Rollins hit a frog splash from the top rope onto Bray Wyatt over the announce table.

Then there was one on one action between the former Sheild members. They tried everything to score a pin fall but couldn’t get any. The match ended when Finn Balor hit Coup De Grace on Roman Reigns but got caught by Samoan Submission machine. Joe applied Coquina Clutch and referree called for the bell as Finn Balor faded.

Now Joe will face Brock Lesnar at Great Balls of Fire.
