India will tour West Indies for limited overs Cricket right after the Champions Trophy. Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) today announced that they have accepted the West Indies Cricket Board proposal of Indian Cricket team touring the Carribeans. India’s tour of West Indies will have five ODIs and one T20 match.
Final of the Champions Trophy will be played on 18the June. India’s tour of West Indies will start on 23rd June when both teams play their first ODI. Both teams will play first two ODIs at Queen’s Park Oval in Port of Spain. After the first two matches next two matches will be playe at the Sir Vivian Richeards stadium in Antigua. The fifth ODI will be played at Sabina Park, Kingston in Jamaica. Stand alone T20 match will also be played at Sabina Park, Kingston.
West Indies will not play the Champions Trophy this time as they haven’t been able to qualify after not being able to be in top 8 in ICC ODI rankings. West Indies Cricket Board is very excited for the Indian team’s tour as chief executive Johnny Grace said, “We are all looking forward to hosting the Indian Cricket Team so soon after Afghanistan’s inaugural tour of the Caribbean. The five-match ODI series gives our young side the opportunity of playing one of the world’s best 50-over sides, and we hope for a competitive series as we strive for automatic qualification for the 2019 Cricket World Cup.”
