India vs Australia: Australia defeats India by 21 runs in the 4th ODI at Bengaluru

In the 4th ODI match of the ongoing Australia-India limited overs series Australia defeated India in a thriller. Match was played at Bengaluru’s M.Chinnaswamy Stadium. By this win Australia registered their first win of the current India vs Australia series.

Australia’s batting performance

Australian skipper won the toss and opted to bat first. This time Australian batters dominated Indian bowling from the start. Aaron Finch and David Warner batted very long and added 231 runs for the first wicket. When Australia was looking set for 350+ score Indian bowlers pulled the game back with few quick wickets. The first one to go back was David Warner who scored 124 from 119 balls. In the next over Aaron Finch was out after scoring 94 runs.

Skipper Steve Smith couldn’t much as he was out for 3 runs. Apart frm them Travis Head and Peter Handscomb scored 29 and 43 respectively. Marcus Stoinis and Matthew Wade remained not out at 15 and 3 runs respectively.

India’s bowling performance

For India Umesh Yadav took 4 wickets for 71 runs. Apart from him only Kedar Jadhav took 1 wicket as all others could not get any wicket.

India’s batting performance

In reply India started well as Ajinkya Rahane and Rohit Sharma added 106 runs for first wicket. Ajinkya Rahan was out soon after scoring his half-century as he scored 53 runs. Rohit Sharma played some some superb shots and looked in prime touch. He was run out after scoring 65 from 55 balls. Skipper Virat Kohli was bowled after scoring 21 runs and India was struggling at 147-3. After this Hardik Pandya and Kedar Jadhav added 78 runs and India looked steady. When the things were looking comfortable for India Hardik Pandya was out for 41 runs.

Manish Pandey then joined Kedar Jadhav and both of them took team to 289 runs. Manish Pandey was out at this score after scoring 33 runs. Run rate was rising and in death overs India couldn’t do much. Kedar Jadhav scored 67 runs from 69 balls. India could only manage 313 runs and lost the match by 21 runs.

Australia’s bowling performance

Kane Richardon was the highest wicket taker for Australia in this match as he tool 3 wickets for 58 runs. Nathan Coulter-Nile took 2 wickets. Pat Cummins and Adam Zampa took 1 wicket each.
