Watch the highlights of thrilling race in Austria which went down to the very last lap. In the end, Valtteri Bottas who started from the pole and retained his position at the top to win Austrian GP 2017.

 

Valtteri Bottas dominated the race to claim his second win of the career. His first win also came in 2017 season at Sochi, in Russian GP. This his first win starting from the pole. He won Russian GP starting from the 3rd position. Sebastian Vettel came second and Azerbaijan GP 2017 winner Daniel Ricciardo finished third.

Lewis Hamilton who started the race at 8th position recovered 4 spots and finished at 4th position. He tried really hard to get past Ricciardo, but the tire gave up. After the first pit stop, as soon as Hamilton switched on to Ultra Soft tyres, he went really hard. He even set the fastest lap record.

 

But in the process got blisters in the rear tyers. So, he waited for last few laps to take his chance, he attacked Ricciardo but the Aussie kept his cool and maintained his place at the podium yet again. This his fifth consecutive podium.

 

The Drivers’ Standing After Austrian GP 2017

Sebastian Vettel is still leading the points table. He went on to widened the gap between him and Hamilton. Now the 2 drivers are separated by 20 points. Interesting thing is that Valtteri Bottas is slowly putting himself in the championship picture. He 15 points behind Hamilton and 35 from Vettel and the season is about to reach the halfway stage.

Mercedes perched at the top of constructors championship followed by arch-rival Ferrari.
